MOTS-c

Injection · coming soon

MOTS-c is a 16-amino-acid peptide made by your mitochondria, and exercise raises it. Researchers call it an exercise mimetic and study it for insulin sensitivity, blood sugar, liver health and physical capacity. Now it’s coming to SuccessRx: prescribed by a licensed provider and made by a state-licensed U.S. pharmacy.

How MOTS-c works
  • MOTS-c is coded in your mitochondrial DNA and works mainly in muscle. It switches on AMPK, your cells’ energy sensor, which helps muscle take up glucose and respond to insulin. Under stress, it moves into the cell’s nucleus and turns on protective genes.
How to take it
  • Prescribed as an injection under the skin or into the muscle
  • Your provider sets the dose and schedule
Insulin sensitivity and blood sugar

In mice, MOTS-c prevented the insulin resistance that comes with age and a high-fat diet. In people, a weaker natural form is linked to more type 2 diabetes, and a MOTS-c analogue lowered blood sugar versus placebo.

Questions before you start

Straight answers from the SuccessRx care team.

20 mg or 60 mg?

MOTS-c comes in two vial strengths. Your provider sets your dose; the vial size mostly decides how many doses it holds.

Does MOTS-c replace exercise?

No. It’s called an exercise mimetic because it switches on some of the same signals exercise does. Exercise also raises your own MOTS-c, so keep training.

Do I need a video visit?

Not in most states. Twelve states and Washington, D.C. require a short video visit by law, and the intake tells you if yours is one of them. Everywhere else, it’s online questions only.

How does it get to me?

Once your provider prescribes, a state-licensed U.S. pharmacy prepares your order and ships it with tracking. You can follow every step in your patient portal.

Can I cancel?

Yes. Pause, cancel or move your next refill date yourself in your patient portal, under Orders & Subscriptions. No phone call needed.

Who prescribes it?

A provider licensed in your state reviews your answers and decides whether MOTS-c fits you. If it doesn’t, they’ll tell you why.

How do I reach someone?

Message the care team in your patient portal any time, or email hello@successrx.com. Medication questions go to the Clinical chat in your portal.
